The viva's result for EOS 5 exams was out this morning. On the note, it says that there are no candidates eligible for the Viva test.

On the other hand, one of my batch mates went to ask Prof Paul Chen regarding tis issue. He said that tis time, the whole Semester 5 did very well. Erm.. thats kinda relieving. As far as I can recall, this is the first time I've seen zero (0) candidates on the viva list. Restecpa..

Anyway things has been good since after exams. And btw there's tis place in hartamas.. the name of the pub is called Decanter Too! It's the row of shop houses opposite Dragon Bar. The new row of shop houses. The beer there is selling kinda cheap. RM22 a jug all nite long...

I was there on Friday nite, 9 of us.. me and my frens, I think it was 10 or 11 jugz...we ordered... yea... it was all good..

Anyway the REAL EOS5 result is coming out on Thursday... hopefully we all pass...

Sorry for not been blogging for sometime. Very busy lately. Final's round the corner..haven't been studying...

Anyway reporting of the present situation....

IT HAS BEEN RAINING COWS AND CHICKENS LATELY!

Yea, seriously...minus the 2 hours of morning shine everyday, the rest of the day is just WET! I mean I wouldn't complain much of the rain, living in such a warm country, the rain actually made KL felt more like Cameron Highlands.

But driving in the rain is just M-I-S-E-rable. Here are a few pointers for u drivers out there...

1) Alwiz empty ur bladder before having a journey home - You are not psychic. U cannot predict if there's a smooth flowing traffic or a massive traffic jam. Or maybe its jus some ass pulling over on the federal highway for a phone call, causing a jam all the way to Klang....The cars are really not moving, that u can actually go down from ur car, walk towards that bastard, give him a bitch slap or two, walk back to your car, and still sing "Hallelujah by Rufus Wainwright"...

2) Take ur anti-convulsant medicines before u drive - You won't wanna end up in a BF (Bitchfit) incase u get too upset over drivers who jus zoom n cut into ur lane without putting the signal. "Signal pun mau save ka?"

3) Refuel your car - Ladies....pls...pls..... the orange light beside ur speedometer serves a purpose. Well jus take a wild guess wat is it for...Hmm...my guess will be...it's a LOW FUEL WARNING??... Pls man..the last thing u wanna end up is having NO FUEL, while floating in the KL flashflood... no matter wat hebat 4WD car u drive...(wooo........flood resistant sial)..if u got no fuel...you're as good as No-Wheel-Drive...

4) Guys invest in empty mineral bottles - preferably one with a bigger mouth.. for longer journeys, don't be kiamsiap, get the 1.5L ones..

5) Gals invest in diapers.. for better absorbent try Mami Poko..

6) Lastly - Go HOME before the rain starts to save all the hassles...Fuck the lectures, PBLs, CSUs, tutor-tutee sessions, mentor-mentee sessions, rooftop sessions, watch movie sessions watfuckineva......

My SURPRISE PARTY

I really didn't expect this surprise party. It started off like this...

Daphne and I was supposed to hv dinner together-gether in Robert Harris. I reached home from classes around 6.00pm. I decided to take a nap b4 I go fetch her. We agreed to fetch her at 7.30pm. I woke up around 7.00pm, ready to go around 7.20pm. Then the msg came in "can u come slightly later? can u leave ur house around 7.45pm?", says Daphne. I said alrite.. Den another msg came in "Can you miss call me when u're leaving ur house.."

Without suspecting anything weird, I did all as above.

So around 7.50pm I left my house, gave her a miss call...and zoom off... The traffic to her house was massive... It's after work, it was a bumper to bumper crawl...

Right at the traffic light outside her house, she gave me a call again. She said...
"Can you buy me panadol? From 7-11..outside my house"
"Wat happened to u?"
"I'm having a lil headache..."

She called me back saying that I need to go in cos she needed to take her medicine..I was like....HAIH....

I can't really explain my feelings at the time. It was almost 50/50 pissed and shocked. So they asked me to say something, I just dunno wat to say and I STONED there for like a minute...

After that only I realise that it was a surprise party for me.....hahaha..congratulations Boren and Daphne ...IT WORKED!!...Both of them are the KEY CULPRITS keke..

Anyway they tried the same thing last year but failed, due to some accidental release of TOP SECRET information.

This time they eliminated all possible flaws...by PAKATING wit my parents too.....and for 3 freagin days, they kept it all from me....haha.....Nice parents....

Haven't had such a good weekend since working. I ponteng work yesterday. Haha. Cos the nite b4 I went to Zouk. Not really impressive that place. B4 that was in Jazz fest, then moved to Bangsar and had a drink. Zouk's alrite. But music sux. Erm, environment also not very impressive. Not worth.

Work ends in 2 days time. Finally get to holiday abit b4 uni starts next week. haha. tired.

Very busy with work currently. Quite fun to work in the pharmacy. But hv to be really careful. Because any mistake that you do while dispensing medications, the nurse in the wards hv the right to lodge a police report. This may sound a little bit OUTRAGEOUS, but thats the way things are handled here. The police report will be followed by a report written by the pharmacist to explain the negligence.

Assunta Hospital is considered quite a backward hospital compared to most private hospitals like SJMC or Pantai. The paperwork here is done manually, that is pen, and Cellotapes, and files. Even the medication packets r being labelled manually. They actually tried to computerize the hospital but only lasted 2 weeks. Everything went haywired. The doctors will not co-operate with the admin (they don't want to use the computer) (maybe cos they're old and not computer literate). So they had to resort back to the manual labour. The pharmacy as I said is divided into two sections. We badly need Pharmacist!! Currently there are 6 vacancies for Pharmacist.

Very hectic working in this pharmacy. Especially when u hv to deal with the shit the stupid nurses give you. When we get a order, we will try to dispense it as quick as possible. Then call the wards for these motherfuckin nurses to come collect it. They'll answer YES convincingly. Yet for another 2023 years, they're still not at the counter. Then after these years hv passed, they will conveniently call us and ask, "Why you haven't finished dispensing.."...why so long ar"... FUCKER. WE FUCKIN CALLED YOU LIKE AGES AGO!!

Anyway enough bitching about the nurses. Pharmacy department is basically the Scapegoat of the hospital. Doctors write wrong prescription, we dispense salah ubat, PHARMACY KENA. Nurse writes wrong prescription, PHARMACY KENA. Dispensed and called the nurses to come collect medication, but framed for not doing so, PHARMACY KENA....everything oso pharmacy kena la. The doctor's dog is sick, PHARMACY KENA. Nurse's mum marah her, PHARMACY KENA.

Haih...

But despite all this, working in the pharmacy is nice la. You learn alot. REally alot. Especially names of drugs in their brands. During classes, we learnt them only by the generic names. Then by talking to the pharmacist, we can actually know the working conditions in a Pharmaceutical Company for example Glaxosmith. Its cool la.

My work ends next week. Enuf time to join the Treasure Hunt. Haha...

Sorry for not been blogging. Was very busy nowadays. I took up a job in the Assunta Pharmacy. Working from 8.30am to 5.00pm. Very tiring, but overall its fun. Today is my 2nd day. I do dispensing, recording, data input and some other stuff in the Central Pharmacy. We dispense to wards.

One difficulty which I encountered was reading those doctor's prescriptions. Their writing is worse than a ECG strip of 250 beats perminute. For example, if they need Zinnat, the writing will be something like Z. . .n..T. Well it takes time to understand these doctor's encrypted text. Those extremely experienced pharmacist will know exactly what they want. So very frequently I will need to consult them.

So you doctors out there *wink*, pls jaga ur handwriting. It is the major source of malpractice nowadays. If the pharmacist read the wrong label and dispensed the wrong drug, sia-sia only the patient. I think I better practice my handwriting again, especially on those Buku No. 5 of the primary school. I think that is of great help. But my writing is okla...

Anyway will blog again when I'm free.

The food in this Italian restaurant is superb. It's cheap and nice. I had beef bacon fettucine while others had pizza, carbonara, and others. We had red wine as well...absolutely fantastica.. After dinner we hopped to Yijun's house. While others check out her dog, Bruno, we chilled out in the hall, chatting and making hell of a noise.

It was a good dinner/gathering. Should do it more often..

After three days of GP posting, I'm feeling quite exhausted already. Well fun is fun, but walking under the hot sun, with car exhaust fumes is quite bad. But at the end of the day when we look back at our cases and see what we've learnt, its quite worth the hardwork.

Today's summary of major cases:-

Carrier of HIV guy, 70 year old, healthy and needs monitoring of CD4/CD8 markers
Conjunctivitis
Urinary track infection - urethritis
Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media
Gout with vestibular neuronitis
Food poisoning
Old lady with H/O of hypothyroidism, IHD, neurosis - under Thyroxine treatment

The cases were not much different from the previous days. But at least we get to have variations. I guess the 20 cases write-up for me and Li Lian is not a problem. There's a virus spreading around in the KL area. Out of 10 patients who came in, half of them presented as URTI (Upper Respiratory Tract Infection). They present with cough, sorethroat, running nose and fever. Nothing serious, but from what we can see, there are much similarities between the cases.

As seen in case number 4, the lady has suppurative otitis media. The statement that she made was damn funny.

"My ears has all this things I think becos last time when I was gardening, this insect entered my right ear. It didn't want to come out. So I took some alcohol and drip it inside my ear. The insect came out and it died. So I think rite, cos the bug scratch scratch my ear, thats why now got all this water thing..." she said.

Doc and Li Lian and I were just rendered speechless when doc said 2 seconds later "Pin tho yau kam keh si.." (Where got such thing)..hahaha

Then there was this couple, well the wife is a little bit horizontally UNchallenged. And the husband was quite small. The husband came to see doc because he had fever and ulcer in his mouth. Upon inspection he also had herpes simplex infection (a milder form of shingles, which leaves no marks on the skin). He also had dry skin.

So doc said "why not put some oil on the skin la, like Nivea or Baby Johnson oil. So less dry mer the skin..". Straight away, not more than 2 miliseconds the wife responded (before the husband could actually get the words doc said to his cognitive department of the brain), "Cannot la, look so handsome for wat, very dangerous man...". Yea dangerous for the lady maybe, cos she's like the 'hottest' model of the year rite, weighing 80kgs. Everything the doc said to the husband, before he could interpret it, the wife already sound kow him... Damn cham ler this guy...

Overall GP posting so far was just fun ler. Doc and us already are like frens. He kutuk us, we kutuk him back..haha.. Once, Li Lian went to the toilet so frequently both of us suspected that she had Urethritis. Den he explain la, about the female urethra is about 4 cm la and guy's one is longer. "But Alex, I think ur urethra is QUITE SHORT rite *wink*wink*?...FUcker... the whole time he was banging on the short the urethra thingy...keke

Anyway enuf blabbing for today ... I'm goin to hv dinner and OFF....

Oh btw, forgot to add, I did my ECG already. Done by doc. Did my eye test, audio test, and lotsa other tests for free...courtesy of doc's equipments..hiah hiah..

Today was quite regular, almost like yesterday. Posted from 9.00am to 5.00pm just now. Freagin tired. Nothing really spectacular today..below r summaries of cases today..

Sepsis of lymph vessels from fingers to axillary nodes
Lipoma on the head with tension headache

HPT pt with 200/100 BP under thiazides, channel blockers and ACE inh.

Onchomycosis with ingrown nails
Dysmenorrhea
Slight fracture of L1 spine

There was a drama today at the clinic. Some lady patient about 30+ came in to consult the doctor. Chief complain was dysmenorrhea. As usual doc will ask about menstrual cycle and the obstetric history. The lady was quite reluctant to tell the doc that she had two abortion before. After talking for a long time only she let it out. Doc wanted to do a physical examination on her. She was quite shy. In a sarcastic way she said, "I look like a specimen, checked out by so many eyes", which includes me and Li lian. Doc said that there was nothing to be shy of, as we're both medical students. She got a lil pissed off. Doc asked whether she was having any pain while he's palpating. She said NO. NO. NO. in a loud manner, sat up, and got out of the room, shutting the door LOUDLY.

Doc was as calm as ever, saying that he'll prescribe some pain killers for her. Li Lian and I were shocked by the way the patient had reacted. We asked doc if these things happen usually, and he said "yea..it's pretty normal..." Wow what an eye opener was that to us.

Heres something to cool things down...

There was this guy patient who came in complaining of groin pain. He happened to be the Selangor Basketball Team Coach (Under 18 and 15). So Li Lian the friendly gal tried to ask this..

"U're the Selangor Basketball Coach rite.."
"Yea.."
"Do you noe who is -some name I can remember- ?"

3 sails, 2 yacht, a small aircraft, 3 motorcycles ranging from 1600cc to 500cc (he's around 60 years old and he does competitive wind sailing, rides the motorcycle to work and scuba dives for the past 20 years)

specializes in Aerospace Medicine (therefore being the only Senior Examiner of Aviation Medicine of the FAA (some exams for ppl doing aviation) in Malaysia)
has connections with the MMA and other Deans from all sorts of Medical School in M'sia
has a son who specialized in Pediatrics (a registrar in Uni. of Leeds) and a neonatal grandson?

Well, thats basically the outline of my GP, Dr. Yong. We didn't ask where he stays and how many cars he has, but up to this point, I'm already SuperFuckinBly impressed...

I reached the clinic at around half past nine...and guess wat we (Li Lian and I) were told that we're early. The journey to the clinic in the LRT and Monorail was fine. Just a lil bit of walking thats all. When we saw the clinic from across the road, we were like thinking.. omfg la, that clinic looks abit rundown. I'm trying my best not to imagine that the only patients there will be prostitutes and tranvestites from all the fuckhouses in KL.

We were WRONG!! The clinic was well tidied, very civilised sick ppl in there and the nurses were really friendly. It was already filled with ppl that time. The clinic is run by two GPs, Dr. Yong and another Indian lady. The Indian doctor wasn't around this morning, so the bulk of patient in the clinic was phenomenal. Poor Dr. Yong hv to layan all of them.

The number of cases we saw this morning..I think around 20..is more than wat we can get from our previous posting in Apollo Medical Centre. People with different sicknesses, ranging from a 8 year old kid to a 70 year old 'kong-kong' came to consult the doctor.

Our first session was completed around 1.00pm. We're free for lunch. After that we took a LRT to Lebuh Ampang (near Masjid Jamek) for our second session with Dr. Yong. The session ended at 5.00pm. His clinic is in a building. Around the area are business centres filled with different types of international banks. Not a surprising thing that he's a panel doctor for almost 10 banks.

Overall our sessions today were really really fruitful. We learnt so much and oso that we know so little. Well can't really expect much from a REALLY REALLY integrated IMU system.

Finally, the end of the Selective. Our group presentation was not bad today. Well, despite not many slides, but I tot we did our best. A few hiccups here and there (more of technical problems) but overall it was all good. The hiccups were giving us extra shots of adrenaline, despite being already quite nervous for the presentation.

At first the fonts couldn't install. So I thought it was just a glitch, we restarted the IMU computer. Still couldn't install. Fortunately Intan brought her laptop (yea.. all credits to Intan of Group 3). We decided to copy all our presentation and the video into her laptop. Everything went smoothly till 30 seconds before the presentation. The video wasn't projected on the big screen. It's playing seamlessly on the laptop, but why the fuck it's not on the screen. That time was deep shit.

Our presentation has a time limit of 15 minutes. "Excuse me Dr. Hera, can you pls stop the time for a lil while. We're having some technical problems over here...". Well she's ok with that. After mingling around for a few minutes, the video is up and running again. Fuh...relieved..

Other groups did a really good job too, up to the extent it made us feel really inferior. They had so much stuff to talk about, while my group..hahaha...more decorations than content. This is bad..

Tomorrow is the deadline for the 2000 words write-up. Since I finished mine, I decided to hand it up earlier. Don't wanna go to IMU again. The petrol consumption is really killing me. One of my fren Steven Chen saw me handing in my project.

Crappy Selective Report

Ah..finally I'm done with my Behavior Modification Report. I spend many sleepless nites trying to comply to the 2000 words assignment.I can tell ya that the content is just utter shit. Hopefully the lecturer will think otherwise.

I went to Low Yatt plaza today to check out the PDAs. Well there weren't many shops selling it. I'm scouting for the best price for either Tungsten T|3 or E. The best price I got in Low Yatt for Tungsten T|3 was RM1,270.00 with a Palm wireless keyboard. I tot it was too expensive and off my budget. Furthermore I needa get memory cards, which I think will cost me a bomb too.. Tungsten E is around RM 760.00.

So now I'm still contemplating whether to get the T|3 or E. The difference is around 500 bucks. How to get money wei? Some more my frens are asking me to join them for the Redang Trip end of August. Argh..

Will think of a solution soon I guess..check it out in PC Fair first. 30th July to 1st August, 11am to 9pm.

Alex Gan's Instant Chicken Ball (Siap in 3 minutes or 10 steps...which ever is faster)

STEPS

1) Take out the packet of Ayamas Chicken Balls from the freezer.
2) With the help of Microwave, you don't hv to defrost it at all..
3) Put it on a Microwave Oven safe plate.
(Caution: You might wanna use Pyrex, Arcopal or Vision plates.. Previous cases show that people who failed to comply with this step experience burns and worst of all, NO Allowance on that particular month..becos they blew up their mum's Microwave.)
4) Microwave Chicken Balls for 3 minutes
5) During this time, you'll prepare the sauce.
6) What you need is Mayonnaise and Maggi Chilly Sauce.
7) Mix them together on a ratio of 2:1
8) Tinggggg!!!..The Chicken ball is ready. Take it out from the microwave.
9) Drain excess water.. Pour on the plate
10) Ta-da.. ur instant meal is ready..

There was a article in the Sunday Star yesterday which I find so true. The title was " Men can shop...seriously!"

I guess the statement nowadays really do apply to men. If you think men just sit on the comfy chair outside the MNG boutique, waiting for their other half to finish shopping while complaining and stuff like that, THEN you're dead WRONG!

I'm not surprise to see if a guy DRAGS his gf into a CK shop.

Well there are many reasons in which men nowadays do alot of shopping. The main reason will be the influence from the wife/gf...(oppsss...). Besides that, blame it on the designers. Designers nowadays do not just cater much for women, but also have alot of impact to men. Brands like FCUK, Guess?, and AX do have really nice men clothes *winks*..haha

But why would people spend alot of money just on clothes and other stuff? Shopping is a total waste of precious time too!! I still think guys shouldn't shop.. David Beckham is giving lotsa bad influence to guys nowadays...

Well, my education fees is squeezing my dad dry all the way to the bones already...

By the time I graduate from a basic medical degree, I'll be 25. After that I'll spend a number of years doing housemanship and etc. By the time I'm fully established, I'll probably be 32-35 years old. By this time I would be really happy already to own my first car..probably a Wira or something.

BUT, my frens who's not studying medicine, by this time, I'm sure they would hv probably own a Volvo or those with really good jobs, a BMW 318i.

Oh well, for the love of this field, I'm not suppose to possess this mentality. The reason I took up medicine was because it was a childhood ambition, and I also think its something I shld accomplish in life. Well all those will be on top of the 'model answers'; save more ppl's life; promote healthy lifestyle blablabla...

It has been providing after-meal desserts to my family for almost 17 years. Until lately, the production has decreased, up to a level that it's only standing pretty there, a nest for red ants and a major contributor of 'suspense' to my family during thunderstorms.

My Mango tree has been there since I moved into this house. I watch it grow, watch it bear fruits, watch the fruits being eaten by bats, squirrels, fuckin DBKL rubbish collector..and yesterday..one fine Sunday..I see it being chopped down clean..

Well, I feel kinda sad tho..I mean it's not any big hoo-haa, but the sentimental value is there..It feels like it has been part of us, the family already..

I'm back..I'm back!!

I'm back from PD after my tiring weekend. The trip was alrite. Stayed in my aunt's house, layan-ing all the spoilt cousins (age 4-7).

Dial-up sux big time. It took almost forever just to load Soccernet. Well managed to do some basic stuffs like checkin my mail as such..

While my parents do a lil bit of country-side cruising wit my aunt, I watched a few DVDs. Was fuckin bored in the house man. Also, thank god those 'spiderman-wannabe' cousins were out of the house.

I watched two Colin Farrell's show. THE RECRUIT and PHONE BOOTH. Ok I'm not really a big fan of him, but these two shows are the ones that I haven't watched. Well the first one was alrite..not really a bomb..but the second one..hmm...the second one was MIGHTY CHEAP. OMG la, the whole movie revolves only around a fuckin phonebooth. Damn fuckin cheap wei the whole show. Storyline was alrite..but the production cost were just..pathetic..

The whole show were just about the negotiations between Colin and the police officer..

"Stay off the phonebooth.."
"No i'm not going to..neh neh neh neh poo poo.."
"I said come out of the phonebooth or I'll..I'll...shoot u.."

Today was my first day of the Selective course. Of three options presented (Pharmacology, Physiology and Behavioral Science), I chose the third.

Frankly, I'm still sticking to the abbreviation of BS, which means Bull Shit rather than Behv. Science.

But its all good cos the lecturer who briefed us today was OK looking.. :) Anyway the theme for this stream of selective is known as Behavior Modification. Yes, I noe, NO JARGONS allowed!!!...well err..in layman's term means 'to be a better person'..i guess.

I didn't noe there were so much TECHNICAL explanations to the word Behavior. I mean, we use it everyday without knowing the actual meaning. I'm sure Aunt Doris know balls abt it when she ordered u to sit down on the chair quietly, eat ur vege and 'behave' urself..innit?

Oh...you think i'm kidding??? Ok take tis test.

Comparison of cornflake packages: Koko Krunch vs Choc Crunchies, Honey Stars vs Honey Twinkies
On Sunday, I went to one of Malaysia's leading hypermarket in Kelana Jaya. While my mum was shopping around for household items, I was wandering around the cereal section. I can't help but notice the above cereals placed side by side.

Was lucky to have my camera next to me. To avoid the complex workers enquiring me why the hell am I spying on their stuff, I decided to just chuck all four boxes of regular sized cereals in the trolley. I wandered off to an area with less people, took out my camera and "Say cheese..you cornflake boxes.." Flash and flash and looking around for workers

The cereals on the right of the pictures are Made in Malaysia, while Koko Krunch and Honey Stars, well, I'm sure u know which company makes em..

The thing is, can't WE put better names for the exact immitation of products. Its damn funny rite when you see the name, Honey Twinkies..hahaha. what kinda new corny names are these. Koko Krunch became Choc Crunchy. Imagine if they try to immitate Cocoa Pops, probably will become Kuku Poops or something..haha..

For god's sake la, change the bledy name ler..hehe maybe you can put Star's Delight or something instead of Honey Twinkies..haha..Twinkies..I'm having twinkies now. Sounds like the name of a dog wei.

And one more thing, even tho the mascot of the manufacturer is a BIGSCARYUGLY DINORIDER, don't ever put the bledy pic on the packaging la. These cereals will be consumed mainly by kids. Don't you think that BIGFATUGLYGOODFORNOTHING monster will scare them away? Maybe you can consider endorsing Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck to be the mascot or something. This is good investment. And the color of the packaging is ridiculously OUT. OUT. and OUT. Who will buy cereals (Chocolate/Non-chocolate) in a GREEN cover?..well I won't..

Who cares about YOU giving 25% extra cereals? Wow..so much ler...

As a conclusion, the sales of the product reflects the failure to have a good packaging. As I see from the cereal section, most of the Koko Krunch or Honey Stars hv been sold, while BIGFATUGLYMONSTER cereal is collecting dust..

Written: Bearing

Fruitcake recipe

You will need:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups dried fruit
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup brown sugar
lemon juice
nuts
1 gallon whiskey

Instructions
1. Sample the whiskey to check for quality.
2. Take a large bowl.
3. Check the whiskey again to be sure it is of the highest quality.
4. Pour one level cup and drink.
5. Repeat.
6. Turn on the electric mixer; beat up 1 cup butter in a large, fluffy bowl.
7. Add 1 teaspoon sugar and beat again.
8. Make sure the whiskey is still OK. Cry another tup.
9. Turn off mixer.
10. Break 2 legs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.
11. Mix on the turner.
12. If the dried fruit gets stuck in the beatererss, pry it loose with a drewscriver.
13. Sample the whiskey to check for tonsisticity.
14. Next, sift 2 cups of salr. Or something. Who cares?
15. Check the whiskey.
16. Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.
17. Add one table. Spoon. Of sugar or something.
18. Whatever you can find.
19. Grease the oven.
20. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees.
21. Don't forget to beat off the turner.
22. Throw the bowl out of the window.
23. Check the whiskey again.
24. Go to bed.
